My journey with animals began in 2021 when I started my first job at a pet store, caring for a variety of animals and exotics. After two years there, my passion for animals grew immensely. This passion led me to pursue an education in the veterinary field, and in June 2023, I graduated with honours from Norquest College’s Veterinary Office Assistant program. Throughout the 12-week course, I gained knowledge in medical terminology, customer service, and proper animal restraint.
A highlight of my education was a 4-week practicum here at Mission Ridge, where I discovered my love for working in a vet clinic. The team was so welcoming and eager to answer my questions and help me gain experience. In October 2023, I was thrilled to officially join the Mission Ridge Animal Hospital team.
What I love most about my job is building special bonds with patients and their owners. Each day brings something new, and it never gets boring! My biggest interest in the veterinary field is rehab, as it’s incredibly rewarding to watch our patients’ healing process from start to finish.
I grew up with a border collie named Cujo, the sweetest girl, and now I have two dogs: Freddie, a 3-year-old sheepadoodle, and Copper, a 10-year-old malamute cross. In the future, I dream of adding a golden retriever or another big, fluffy dog to my family. I also love cows and one day hope to live on a farm with many Highland cattle and plenty of dogs!
